Round 2 Race Pack
Next weekend the 14th and 15th of July is Round 2 of the Rccaoi 1/8th scale off road National Championship in Cork. CRCCC are the hosts of this round. An all dirt track featuring timber jumps and track features. The recent record breaking dry spell and high temperatures has led to a drying out of the track soil, leaving it prone to breaking up in spots, so tires and set up will be critical with the surface rough in spots.
Locally there is a well-stocked shop less than 10 minutes from the track. Track side there is running water, compressor, toilet facilities, and a spare generator available for charging batteries all on site, as well as a very warm welcome.
There is no pitting provided so pit tables and a shelter are recommended. Camping is available on request.
Directions … Coming into Cork from the Dublin side, go through the Jack Lynch tunnel and continue on this dual carriageway. You will fly over the first roundabout heading for Kerry / West Cork. Go straight through the second roundabout also for Kerry / West Cork, before the third roundabout, keep left and take the off ramp for Bandon / West Cork, drive out the Bandon road until you get to a large roundabout where you go right (3rd exit) for the Half Way village. Immediately, you will be at a T junction, (pill box) turn left for Crossbarry / Killeady, keep going on this road, until you come to Barretts Pub on the right, just beyond Barretts, across the road is “Busy Kids” child care center, down the right hand side of this centre, there is a farmers lane, the track is at the very end of this lane, through two gates.
