Round 1 of the 1/8th RallyX and Ebuggy Championship Series took place last weekend at Badmcc. Drivers where threated to the new track layout
which includes the now infamous Dragons Back. Condition where good on the day with the rain staying away giving drivers perfect condition to
race in.

In Nitro Buggy it was an Agama lock out at the top after Qualifying with the TQ going to Gary Baird followed by Alan Scroggie and Barkley Abernethy taking third with the Durango of Aaron Vance following in a close fourth on the grid. During the A Final the battle at the front was to be fought between the top three qualifiers and fifth place qualifier Andrew McClean. Gary Baird had been leading upto the 20minute mark and was looking comfortable maintaining a 10sec lead but a breakage was to put him out of the race. Alan took over in P1 and after pasting the field up to 3rd place he was sitting +40sec in the lead. After 30mins he had a bizzare flameout at the far side of the track from the pit, this was ruin his run and handed the lead over to Barkley who took over with a 23sec lead. Alan drove hard to catch up and retake the lead but one or two mistakes kept him at arms lent from Barkley who went on to take the win and the Overall victory at Round 1. Alan finished in second with Andrew McClean who had stayed within touching distance throughout the race finished in third to round off the Podium.

In Ebuggy, the race in the A final was between the top three qualifiers from the Heats. TQ man Gary got off to a poor start dropping down to third on the first lap. It was the third place qualifier Aaron Vance who was to make the best of his early pace taking the lead on lap 2 and never looking back finishing 1 lap ahead of the next driver Barkley. Rounding of the podium and finishing third was Gary Baird.
